Smart cities are now using resources such as IoT and digital technology to deliver not only a better quality of life, but also to make our urban spaces more liveable.

Most cities in India are not equipped to deal with the burgeoning population’s pressure on infrastructure and services. This has brought to fore the need for cities to invest in IoT devices, services and solutions.

IoT presents an opportunity to reshape delivery and foster an efficient management of physical infrastructure assets. With a multitude of devices getting internet-enabled and accessible, IoT offers unprecedented potential to remotely monitor control infrastructure and analytics.

Smart cities work in different ways on various countries of the world; there is no one template for it, it is about how you utilise technology, social media and cyber-security.

The idea of a smart city is what we think the future will look like – cities where buildings are lost in the clouds or networked devices linked together by the Internet of Things (IoT).

The smart city concept is still evolving in India and though it shows much promise, adopting a one-size-fits-all approach could prove to be futile.

Part B: Suggest and describe at least two innovative technology enabled services that you will introduce into Mysuru so that it can be called as a Smart City?
